As another New Year begins I realise my frequency posting on this blog has reduced very dramatically. It is quite difficult when most of one's horizons are filled with issues relating to a single Church community to be able to write about the process of learning to lead without looking like I am writing about a person or situation. I'm not sure anybody is too bothered about me not writing very often.
There are some really interesting things going on here at present...
We appointed a new Community Outreach Leader to work on the new housing development and to work towards there being a sense of a community at ease with itself across the whole of Patchway. This will be really fascinating as the project develops.
I do feel I have been learning a lot about leadership, and that always seems to involve learning a lot about oneself as a leader. I am currently enjoying reading David Runcorn's Fear and Trust - great stuff!
We have been starting to explore some of the LICC materials around 'life on the frontline' as part of our exploration of what discipleship might mean.
I am also still working hard on teaching, and post what I say on a sister blog to this one.
After two years where I have run 750 miles per year, and then achieved my 100th Park Run this month I am glad of any small amount of motivation that gets me out running.
